8. Educators contribute to the profession
I have yet to reach the place of taking on a student teacher or leading a group through professional development. but I highly believe in the importance of giving back. During my practicum at Pinewood, I had the opportunity to assist the Indigenous Education Worker in creating Dalkeh labels for parts of the school. I love this way of incorporating Indigenous culture throughout the school environment.
I also see the ways small acts can contribute to the professions. I find sharing resources and experiences with other members of my cohort vital to mutual improvement. Acts as small as being positive while in the staffroom can have a large impact on other members of the profession.
