Welcome! My name is Beth Fowler, and I am an aspiring elementary teacher in the University of British Columbia Bachelor of Education program (elementary years). I am passionate about making education engaging for all students by creating dynamic, hands-on lessons and learning activities.
I discovered my passion for teaching after coaching cross-country ski racing, and through my experiences and practicums during this program, I continue to fall in love with the profession. My current pedagogy is ever-changing as I continue to grow with each course and practicum, but I lean towards a constructivist, student-centred approach. I strive to plan each lesson to meet students where they are while holding all to high expectations for student growth and learning on a daily basis with the incorporation of place-based, outdoor learning.
Through this website, I hope to represent my growth as I develop my pedagogy by reflecting on each practicum. I continue to gain new insight into leading a class from each teacher I interact with and each lesson plan I create.
