My pedagogy is ever-changing but rooted in inclusivity for all learners. I believe learning cannot occur without an environment that feels safe and it is my goal to make school a safe place for each child that I encounter. I have included a pedagogy statement I wrote in my very first semester of the education program, and my overarching sentiment on community still holds true. Creating a feeling of inclusion means creating a community where everyone is looking out for each other. While in my heart I would love to be the safe person for each student I teach, I know I will not be able to fill that role for all of them. My job not only encompasses being there for students, but it is also important to be there for the staff around me and do my part to create an inclusive environment school-wide. Connections among teachers will benefit students in ways I could never fulfil alone.
